Escrito por A new international rock force has arrived. SHOGUN MOJO, featuring legendary guitarist Tommy Thayer and acclaimed singer-songwriter Dan Reed, has officially signed with Frontiers Music, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for four highly accomplished musicians.
Leading the band is Tommy Thayer, best known as the lead guitarist of the iconic rock band KISS, whose remarkable career helped propel the group to more than 100 million albums sold worldwide. Raised in Oregon and inspired by the hard rock explosion of the 1970s, Thayer first established himself with Black ‘N Blue before stepping into one of rock’s most recognizable roles when he joined KISS in 2002.
Sharing the spotlight is Dan Reed, frontman of the acclaimed Dan Reed Network, whose career has spanned decades of international touring alongside artists including The Rolling Stones, RUN DMC, and Bon Jovi. In recent years, Reed has also expanded his creative pursuits into filmmaking while continuing to write and record new music. His growing creative partnership with Thayer has laid the foundation for SHOGUN MOJO, combining their shared passion for compelling songwriting, dynamic performances, and artistic innovation.
Completing the lineup are two exceptional Swedish musicians. Drummer and producer Robert Mehmet Ikiz brings an expansive musical background shaped by performances in more than 60 countries, blending rock, jazz, and electronic influences into a distinctive rhythmic style. Bassist Bengan Jonasson, based in Stockholm, contributes melodic, groove-driven bass lines developed through decades of experience across rock, reggae, jazz fusion, and Scandinavian folk music. A longtime collaborator with both Reed and Ikiz, Jonasson provides the musical chemistry that gives the band its depth and cohesion.
Together, these four seasoned artists form SHOGUN MOJO—a band that combines classic rock heritage with international influences and fearless creativity. Their debut album has been co-produced and engineered by Geoff Tyson, a protégé of guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, and mixed by renowned producer and artist Rob Daiker.
The forthcoming album promises a powerful blend of rock and funk, celebrating resilience, hope, and the human spirit against the backdrop of an increasingly complex and dystopian world.
With the backing of Frontiers Music and an impressive lineup of world-class musicians, SHOGUN MOJO is poised to become one of the most compelling new additions to today’s international rock scene. Their debut release is expected soon.
