Anvil in two weeks in Helsinki and Tampere

Canadian heavy metal legends ANVIL will offer two concerts this month in Finland as a part of their new European tour. The concerts will take place in October 22 in Helsinki at Tavastiaand October 23 in Tampere at Olympia. The band was formed in Toronto in 1978, it consists of vocalist/guitarist Steve «Lips» Kudlow, drummer Robb Reiner,  and bassist Chris RobertsonANVIL has released twenty studio albums, their latest one “One and Only” was just released this June via AFM Records.

They were one of the first North American bands to push the sound and style of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) one step further, as they played louder, faster and heavier than their heroes. They have been cited as having influenced many notable heavy and thrash metal groups including MEGADETH, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, and METALLICA. The band’s history is chronicled in the 2009 documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, which helped break them to a broader audience they never found in their prime. Both concerts will count with the German band GREY ATTACK as the opener.
